Hike to Cathedral Rock

The Cathedral Rock trail is a short but steep ascent.

We passed some funky cacti on the way.

Lengthy uphill stretches were a joyful scramble.

A new elevation seemed to appear each time we'd finish climbing the last.

A series of cairns marked the way to the top.

We made it to the Cathedral Rock saddle!

Pinacles flanked us and stretched skyward.

Great views into the canyon valley from the saddle of Cathedral Rock.

One disadvantage of using a fancy new camera is that it's more difficult for others to use it effectively.

Time to head back.
