A winter wonderland in Sedona.

We awoke to a landscape covered in snowfall, engulfed in fog and illuminated by eerie morning light.

We wondered how all this snow might impact the trails we hoped to hike later today.

As the sun rose above the snowfilled canyon, so too did our Dutch Baby.

A beloved Ansorge breakfast tradition!

Another Ansorge tradition: always be puzzlin'.

As puzzle pieces fit into place, the picture outside cleared up as well.

By the afternoon, the sky had cleared for the sun to melt away the night's snowfall.

These canyons are gorgeous with and without blankets of snow.

I made good use of the snow on the deck.

Hard to believe our view looked like this just a day ago.

We tried to hike the Secret Mountain.

Unfortunately, this was as far as we got.

Broken Arrow Canyon Hike

Despite questionable snowmelt conditions, we were determined to hike.

Fortunately, most of the trail was atop solid red rock.

Gretchen checks out the scenery.

Views that stretched as far as my eye could see.

Nestled below the canyons are several homes.

We paused to admire the occasional Pink Jeep navigating the rocks out here.

On our way home, a quick stop at Chapel of the Holy Cross (aka Church on the Rock).

Rounding out our day we grabed a pint and several baskets full of peanuts at one of Sedona's local breweries.

Back home we catch the last bit of a sunset from our deck.
